Targeting webpage design variations at new users

Photobox, a digital photo-printing service offering personalized products, faced the challenge of improving conversions on a key landing page by addressing the different needs of new versus repeat visitors. Working with AB Tasty, Photobox sought to identify and remove friction for new users—who were being overwhelmed by menus, CTAs and a bulky registration form—using AB Tasty’s personalization plugins and targeting tools.

AB Tasty implemented targeted homepage variations for new users: simplifying the layout, removing the elaborate registration form, enlarging the welcome image, increasing CTA size, and highlighting offers. The one-week test assigned 80,000 users to the experiment; registrations rose by 14% and overall website conversions increased by 3.2%, demonstrating AB Tasty’s measurable impact.
