Pets at Home, the UK’s leading pet care business, faced a major funnel drop-off with more than two-thirds of users failing to move past the basket page. Working with AB Tasty, Pets at Home used A/B testing to identify and address the abandonment issue by testing personalised interventions for returning shoppers.
AB Tasty implemented a saved-basket pop-up for returning desktop users with items in their basket and ran a variation for three weeks, splitting traffic roughly 50/50. The AB Tasty test drove measurable gains: over a 3% increase in users reaching the basket page, more than a 1% uplift to the checkout page, and about 2.5% more users reaching the confirmation page.
