La Redoute increases revenue per visitor by 2.7% with free shipping incentive

La Redoute, a leading French e‑retailer, sought to lift revenue per visitor for its Portuguese business after noticing lower average order values and higher cart abandonment compared with other markets. To address this, La Redoute Portugal worked with AB Tasty, using the vendor’s conversion-rate-optimization/A/B testing platform to test incentives tailored to local shopper behavior.

AB Tasty ran A/B tests of free-shipping messages across the purchase funnel — one variant stating “Free shipping over 30 euros” and another showing how much more to add to reach free shipping. The first variation increased revenue per visitor by 2.7% (the second by 1.9%), AOV rose 3.7% for both versions, and the winning test generated an extra €11,600 over six weeks (≈€100,500 projected annually).
