Hodges Badge Company Adds Customer Reviews to Increase Revenue per Visit by 67%

Hodges Badge Company, the longtime family-owned U.S. maker of custom ribbons, medals, plaques and buttons, wanted to boost trust and purchases by adding customer reviews to its product pages. Working with EXCLUSIVE, they used the AB Tasty platform to run a focused split test that would validate whether and where reviews should appear on product pages.

AB Tasty split traffic between the original page and two variations, and the winning variation—displaying the top five customer reviews below the suggested-items carousel—delivered a 38% increase in transactions and a 67% increase in revenue per visit, while engagement with the carousel rose 18% and accounted for 12% of orders. AB Tasty’s targeted experiment also showed placement mattered: putting reviews above recommendations reduced recommended-product interactions by 57%, underscoring how small layout changes can drive big revenue gains.
