Designhill, a fast-growing peer-to-peer crowdsourcing platform that connects graphic artists with design seekers, needed to boost engagement on a pre-Christmas email promoting a blog post. They partnered with AB Tasty and used its A/B testing service to optimize the email subject line to drive higher open rates and click-throughs.
AB Tasty tested a subject line that used only the blog title ("Top 10 Off-Page SEO Strategies for Startups in 2015") against one prefixed with "Check Out My Recent Post – ...". Across 27,000 sends the title-only subject produced 4,265 opens (15.79%) vs 4,158 opens (15.39%) and 282 clicks (1.05%) vs 268 clicks (0.99%), yielding a 2.57% lift in open rate and a 5.84% higher CTR for Designhill.
