Union Hospital, a 2,400-employee not-for-profit health system in Terre Haute, IN, needed to modernize HR to better manage staff development and meet Malcolm Baldrige requirements. The hospital faced fragmented job descriptions, department-level goal spreadsheets, paper-based evaluations, and difficulty tracking how employee performance aligned with organizational goals — all of which created time-consuming manual work and reporting gaps.
Union Hospital implemented HealthcareSource Performance Manager, integrated with its Lawson HRIS, to centralize job descriptions, link goals to evaluations, enable online self‑assessments and sign-offs, and automate reminders and reporting. The result: faster, more consistent performance processes, higher appraisal completion rates, improved accountability and goal alignment, streamlined HR workload (eliminating dedicated clerical data entry), and useful reporting and competency checklists for compliance and development.
