Schneck Medical Center, a not-for-profit 114-bed hospital in Seymour, IN, needed a more efficient way to document staff training, track and measure competencies, and demonstrate employee engagement as it pursued Magnet re-designation and the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Existing classroom training and a homegrown database made competency validation and reporting time-consuming and inconsistent.
By implementing HealthcareSource NetLearning and NetCompetency, Schneck standardized training delivery, empowered managers and unit educators with role-based access, and used dashboards and custom reports to produce accreditor-ready data. The system cut annual training time for nurses from days to one or two hours, streamlined competency validation, supported wellness tracking, and helped Schneck earn Magnet re-designation and the Malcolm Baldrige Award while advancing its “Patients First” objective.
