Morning Pointe, a senior living provider, was struggling with high employee turnover driven by caregiver burnout: in 2012 the company-wide turnover rate was 37%, with resident assistants at 38% and other roles at 36%. After two years turnover for all jobs except resident assistants fell 11 points to 25%, resident assistant turnover dropped to 35%, and overall turnover declined by 19%; assessments revealed that poor judgment and weak job knowledge strongly predicted separations, enabling smarter hiring and reduced churn.
