Meadville Medical Center (MMC) is a 1,300-employee community hospital in Meadville, Pennsylvania, serving a large regional population and priding itself on patient-centered care and low turnover. Faced with hiring 115–120 new employees a year and the need to ensure every hire fits MMC’s service-oriented culture, the hospital needed a consistent, behavioral-based way to screen candidates and reduce reliance on manual, fragmented HR processes.
MMC implemented HealthcareSource Staff Assessment (formerly TestSource HSI) integrated with HealthcareSource Position Manager and Performance Manager. The behavioral assessments narrow applicant pools to the top 3–5 candidates, deliver quantitative feedback and custom interview guides, and allow consistent comparison of internal and external applicants. The result: more scientific, better-informed hiring decisions, streamlined employee lifecycle management, significant time savings and improved alignment with MMC’s service and quality goals.
