Virgin Media Business, a leading UK communications provider, needed to move customers off legacy PBX and contact-centre systems and quickly roll out cloud-first unified communications and contact-centre services. Its previous partner’s slow roadmap and a changing market—accelerated by pandemic-driven hybrid work—meant Virgin sought a UK-focused, evergreen cloud solution that combined UCaaS and CCaaS on one platform.
Virgin Media Business partnered with 8x8’s born-in-the-cloud platform and a 65-strong joint launch team to design billing, deployment, marketing and sales processes; a contract signed in May 2020 led to a full dual-branded launch in September (four-month time-to-market). The integrated solution added advanced features like multilingual IVR, generated 170 sales opportunities, pushed monthly recurring revenue past US$2M, and delivered roughly a fourfold sales improvement versus the previous cloud partner.
