Nonprofit Early Childhood Alliance gets more for less with 8x8

Early Childhood Alliance (ECA) is a Fort Wayne–based nonprofit that provides early education and family services across northern Indiana. After moving from a Nortel PBX to a cloud provider, ECA grew frustrated with a vendor whose pricing and feature set were restrictive—essential items like Caller ID and single sign-on were excluded, collaboration tools (Glip) were confusing and couldn't be disabled, and integration with the Microsoft Teams environment ECA already used was incomplete. Controlling costs and simplifying user experience became critical priorities.

ECA evaluated several vendors and chose 8x8, deploying 8x8 Work and 8x8 Voice for Microsoft Teams to give staff a single hub for calls and collaboration. The migration was smooth, reduced the number of vendors and apps to manage, cut IT support needs, and delivered about 25% in cost savings through per-user pricing and included features like Caller ID and SSO—helping the nonprofit better control costs and streamline operations.
