Bus Charter Company Consolidates Multiple Systems on 8x8’s Platform, Saving Money and Improving Operations

Silverado Stages is a leading, privately owned charter bus company in California with six locations that had grown reliant on multiple disparate phone systems and providers. The patchwork setup—including an aging Toshiba system—made adding users and locations difficult, caused shared outages across offices, required dialing long numbers between sites, and generated multiple monthly bills and unnecessary third‑party charges.

Silverado consolidated more than 30 phone numbers and 42 extensions onto 8x8’s cloud-based Virtual Office, gaining self-service administration, metered pricing where appropriate, and unified voice, meetings and virtual numbers on one bill. The move cut onboarding time for new users to about 30 minutes, improved internal and customer communication (voicemail-to-email and three-digit extensions), enabled faster call-routing changes, and delivered at least $15K in annual savings while supporting the company’s continued expansion.
