A 8x8 Case Study
Bayside Group, a Melbourne-based recruitment and business services firm founded in 1976 with 200 staff across 11 locations, was hampered by aging PABXs, fragmented telecom systems and the impending NBN decommissioning of copper lines. The lack of flexible call routing and remote-working capabilities became critical as the business grew and COVID-19 lockdowns forced staff to work from home.
Working with GlobalTalk, Bayside fast-tracked a move to 8x8 Work and Meet, deploying softphones and cloud telephony to replace legacy systems and enable advanced call routing, video conferencing and unified communications. The change boosted responsiveness and productivity, consolidated carriers to reduce management overheads, cut telecom costs by about AU$20,000 a year, and created a flexible, scalable platform for future integrations and reduced travel.
