AdvancedMD, a South Jordan, UT–based healthcare software firm serving independent physicians, was constrained by a legacy, multi-vendor phone system that relied on on‑prem servers. Remote staff had to use a VPN that degraded call quality, the contact center menu and transfers were confusing, reporting for agent coaching was cumbersome, and phasing out vendor support created security and HIPAA compliance concerns.
Working with channel partner MicroAge, AdvancedMD implemented the 8x8 eXperience Communications Platform in phased steps. The cloud deployment removed VPN dependence, cut cabling and desk-phone costs, delivered HIPAA‑aware cloud telephony, real-time reporting and call recordings for coaching, improved first‑call resolution and call clarity, and completed the company’s move to a fully cloud‑based communications platform.
