8x8 Unifies Distributed Offices for Leading Storage Systems Provider

CST Industries, a global leader in factory-coated metal storage tanks, covers and reclaimer systems with offices across North America, the UK, Brazil, India, Singapore, Vietnam and Dubai, faced a critical communications problem in 2010 when it discovered one week before a headquarters move that its existing phone system could not be migrated. With a distributed workforce and hundreds of lines, the company needed a fast, reliable, and cost-effective way to unify employees and locations under one phone system.

CST deployed 8x8 Virtual Office, which was installed rapidly and—after quick resolution of initial network-related voice-quality issues—provided extension dialing, a global directory, Outlook and mobile integration, and responsive support. The cloud solution has expanded from the Lenexa HQ to multiple sites (tripling extensions from 80 to 240 with many more planned), simplified management, and is expected to reduce telephone costs, including long-distance, by about 25%.
