A 7shifts Case Study
Mozzarella Di Bufala is a 26-year-old San Francisco pizzeria with a Brazilian influence that employs more than 45 staff, many of whom are college students with constantly changing availability. Before 7shifts, manager Diogo Martini relied on static spreadsheets, which led to miscommunication, missed shift trades, and frequent last-minute callouts to fill shifts.
After adopting 7shifts in 2011, Diogo streamlined scheduling with features like the daily staffing graph, a shift-pool with manager approvals, and centralized availability and time-off tracking to reduce overtime risk and ensure qualified coverage. Scheduling time dropped to about one hour per week (roughly an 80% reduction), saving 4–5 hours weekly and allowing him to focus on revenue-generating activities.
