The Human Bean is a rapidly growing drive-thru coffee chain with more than 100 franchised and corporate locations that needed a scalable way to manage scheduling, labor costs, and store-level communication. Rapid expansion exposed the limits of paper schedules, email and group texts, and inconsistent shift-change processes, so corporate sought an easy-to-adopt, cloud-based platform that integrated with their POS and delivered forecasting and labor analytics.

They implemented 7shifts, using its mobile app, shift trading/pool, scheduling templates and Toast POS integration to forecast sales and build consistent schedules across units. The result was faster, more accurate scheduling, higher sales (including record months during 2020), predictable labor percentages under the 20% target, and high employee engagement (about 1,000 shift-pool requests and ~700 swaps per month), enabling smoother scaling and better manager focus on training and guest service.
