A Zyxel Case Study
The National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO needed to build a comprehensive WiFi infrastructure from scratch across five museums in Tashkent so visitors could use an app to guide their tours. The challenge was made harder by thick, old walls that weakened wireless signals and by the need for discreet, museum-friendly equipment. Zyxel provided the wireless solution, including its NWA5121-NI access points, along with supporting switches, gateways, and a controller.
Zyxel and local partner Light Technology deployed 21 access points, ES1100-8P PoE switches, UAG4100 gateways, and an NXC2500 controller to create strong, reliable wireless coverage with seamless roaming. The full rollout across five museums was completed in just 20 days, enabling app-guided tours and guest WiFi access for visitors. The pilot was deemed successful enough that the network is now set to expand to many more museums across the city.
