ZyXEL Upgrades Belgian School with Wireless Network Solution

Sint-Janscollege, a secondary school in Belgium, needed to support one Internet connection across three buildings while protecting students from inappropriate content, limiting unwanted applications, and controlling access for different users and third parties. Zyxel provided a network solution centered on the USG 210 Unified Security Gateway, along with managed switching and wireless access to secure and manage the school’s connectivity.

Zyxel implemented a centralized, segmented network with a Unified Security Gateway, GS-1900-24 smart switches, and NWA3160-N wireless access points to control traffic, prioritize administrative and student usage, and extend reliable connectivity to classrooms, labs, and sports facilities. The result was better security and visibility, no system abuse, continuity of service, guaranteed Internet speed, and a future-proof wireless network, though the case study does not provide specific numerical performance gains.
