ZyXEL Security Solution Eases New Delhi Medical University’s Growing Pains

AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), a large medical university and hospital network in New Delhi, needed to replace an outdated campus security infrastructure that was struggling with limited bandwidth, bottlenecks, and growing demand from thousands of users across multiple buildings and user groups. The institution also needed stronger protection against malware and web threats, integration with existing systems such as Active Directory, and a future-proof, cost-effective security platform. Zyxel’s Unified Security Gateway was selected to address these challenges.

Zyxel implemented a three-tier security architecture using USG100, USG200, and USG300 Unified Security Gateways across the campus, delivering scalable, user-friendly, and high-availability protection with VPN support, content filtering, and centralized management. The solution improved network security and performance while supporting around 5,000 users, multiple sites, and seamless roaming across campus. Zyxel also won the project on a strong price-to-performance ratio, earning the top technical rating in the evaluation.
