ZyXEL Security Solution Eases New Delhi Medical University’s Growing Pains

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi faced growing network pains as its outdated infrastructure struggled with poor bandwidth, data bottlenecks, and increasing security threats from users downloading video and other content. AIIMS needed a future-proof, cost-effective, and scalable security solution that could integrate with legacy systems, support Active Directory authentication, and provide high availability across multiple campus locations. Zyxel’s Unified Security Gateway products were selected to address these needs.

Zyxel implemented a three-tier security architecture using USG 100, USG 200, and USG 300 Unified Security Gateways across smaller departments, larger aggregation sites, and the core network. The solution delivered strong security, VPN support, user-friendly access, and scalable campus-wide protection for nearly 5,000 users across 17 buildings, while improving performance and enabling seamless mobility and future expansion. Zyxel won the project on a strong price-to-performance ratio and a successful technical proof of concept.
