ZyXEL enhances Greenhill School’s learning with secure wireless Internet access

Greenhill School, one of the largest schools in Pembrokeshire, needed secure wireless Internet access for its sixth form block to support a high number of students using the network at once. The school also wanted to re-use existing network technology where possible and keep deployment simple. Zyxel provided the wireless solution, using a NXC-8160 Wireless Channel Blanket Controller and NWA-8500 dual access points.

With Zyxel’s Wireless Channel Blanket technology, Greenhill School gained consistent, secure wireless coverage across the sixth form building, even during peak usage by many students simultaneously. The solution protected the network from unauthorised users and devices, could be managed through a single interface, and was easy to deploy without new cabling. Zyxel’s system also created a scalable foundation for future expansion to the rest of the school, improving students’ access to online resources and making better use of free periods.
