ZyXEL adds wireless access and unified threat management to the curriculum at St Joseph’s Primary School

St Joseph’s Primary School, a 205-student primary school in Bracknell, Berkshire, wanted to embed ICT throughout its curriculum, but internet access was limited to the ICT suite and staffroom, logins were slow, and the ageing network was restricting speed and usability. Zyxel was brought in to deliver a secure, campus-wide wireless solution, along with unified threat management and supporting network hardware.

Zyxel, working with reseller partner J Brands, installed nine NWA 3100 wireless access points, a ZyXEL 35 UTM firewall, switches, cabling upgrades, and wireless cards for laptops, all during a school holiday to avoid disruption. The result was a faster, more secure network with improved coverage across the school grounds, doubled throughput, and the ability for students and teachers to work anywhere on site, helping St Joseph’s meet its curriculum goals and future-proof its ICT infrastructure.
