Unstoppable Wireless Access in Europa-Park Hotels, Germany

Hotel Bell Rock, part of Europa-Park Hotels in Germany, needed a more reliable wireless network for guests across seven themed hotel properties. The legacy networks were unstable and sometimes crashed, while each hotel had different conditions that made it difficult to install WiFi without affecting the look and feel of the buildings. Zyxel’s networking and security products, including the USG2000, were used to support the project.

Zyxel implemented a large-scale, customized WLAN and wired infrastructure with core switches, DSLAMs, PoE switches, and more than 700 access points, centrally managed with ZyXEL ENC software. The solution improved Internet connectivity significantly, provided secure guest access, and protected the hotel network. After installation, guest inquiries to staff about WiFi dropped to virtually zero, showing a major improvement in service quality.
