Thai Agricultural College Grows Fiber-Optic Network with Zyxel GPON Solution

Phichit College of Agriculture and Technology, a 206-acre vocational campus in Thailand, needed to replace its unreliable, low-bandwidth UTP Ethernet network with a high-quality, affordable, and scalable solution. The college also wanted a dependable vendor with local support, and chose Zyxel through its partner IT Comscience, using a GPON fiber-optic architecture.

Zyxel implemented a fiber-optic GPON solution built around an OLT1404A 4-port GPON OLT and PMG5318-B20B Wireless N GPON HGUs. The new network delivered a cost-effective, energy-efficient design with strong QoS for wireless performance, easier management, and future-ready scalability, while also restoring and extending campus connectivity across more than 20 buildings and remote offices.
