Tele Rute, a Spanish telco in Córdoba, was struggling with outdated coax/Docsys equipment, capacity bottlenecks, high maintenance costs, and limited broadband speed as its customer base grew. To modernize its network and prepare for future services like IPTV, Tele Rute turned to Zyxel for an end-to-end GPON solution.

Zyxel implemented a GPON network built around the OLT2406 2U 6-slot temperature-hardened GPON OLT, along with PMG5318-B20C Wireless N GPON ONTs and PMG1005-T20A ONTs. The new solution improved performance, simplified network management, reduced maintenance costs, and delivered a flexible, future-proof platform with better ROI and giga-grade bandwidth for Tele Rute’s roughly 2,000 customers.
