Swiss Hotel Four Points by Sheraton Sihlcity Upgrades to ZyXEL’s Multimedia WLAN Solution

Four Points by Sheraton Sihlcity Zürich, a business and seminar hotel in Zurich, needed a stable, high-performance WLAN for guests, large meeting-room crowds, and in-room multimedia streaming. The hotel also wanted better guest service options, including tiered internet packages. Zyxel provided the wireless infrastructure, centered on its NXC5200 Business Wireless LAN Controller and managed access points.

Zyxel implemented a centralized WLAN solution with APs deployed across the hotel, including dedicated room-level access for streaming to in-room TVs and carefully planned coverage for seminar spaces. The result was a network that could support 100 to 150 simultaneous users in conference areas and about 170 APs with 130 SSIDs overall, while improving coverage, simplifying management, and enabling tiered bandwidth services for guests.
