Secure Interconnection of a Stationery Wholesalers’ European Branches via VPN

Map Merchant Czech, part of the Map Merchant Group, needed a cost-effective way to securely connect its subsidiaries across Central, Eastern, and Northern Europe and support a shared datacenter in the Czech Republic. The company wanted a VPN-based network that would replace expensive leased lines while keeping sensitive business data protected. Zyxel’s ZyWALL security and VPN products were selected for the project.

Zyxel implemented a centrally managed VPN solution using ZyWALL firewalls, including a ZyWALL 1050 for the main datacenter and ZyWALL 70 and 35 units for remote sites. The result was secure interconnection of multiple branches, improved data security, easier administration from one place, and a reliable, scalable platform with centralized control of the network. The deployment also supported future growth, with current traffic around 1 GB per day and room for much more.
