Case Study: RIO Networks achieves higher symmetrical bandwidth with Zyxel G.SHDSL.bis

A Zyxel Case Study

Preview of the RIO Networks Case Study

RIO offers higher-speed bandwidth upstream and downstream with ZyXEL’s G.SHDSL.bis

RIO Networks, a telecommunications provider in Oregon and southwest Washington, wanted to create an affordable, reliable communications offering for SMBs that needed much higher symmetrical bandwidth for services like high-speed data, hosted IP PBX, email, fax, and unified messaging. To meet that challenge, RIO partnered with Zyxel and used its G.SHDSL.bis solution, including the IES 708-22 Mini IP DSLAM and related products, to deliver faster upstream and downstream service over existing copper infrastructure.

With Zyxel’s G.SHDSL.bis platform, RIO Networks increased capacity while keeping costs down, cutting both CAPEX and OPEX versus traditional T-1 access. Zyxel’s solution also provided better reach, performance, QoS, and manageable deployment, helping RIO roll out services quickly and differentiate itself with attractive, symmetric broadband options. The case study cites service tiers supporting symmetric speeds from 3–6 Mbps and 8–24 Mbps, giving RIO a more competitive and flexible offering for new and existing customers.
