OpenStack, the cloud operating system developer, hosted its first application hackathon in Taiwan and needed fast, stable Wi‑Fi for more than 200 participants in a high-density BYOD environment. Zyxel was brought in to provide the wireless network foundation, including 802.11ac access points, a wireless LAN controller, a VPN firewall, and a PoE switch.

Zyxel delivered an integrated solution using WAC6503D-S access points, an NXC5500 wireless LAN controller, a ZyWALL 110 VPN firewall, and a GS2210-24HP switch, completing planning, configuration, and testing in just two weeks. The result was venue-wide Wi‑Fi coverage, secure remote management, and reliable connectivity for 200+ hackers and staff through 56 intense hours of the event, helping OpenStack’s hackathon conclude successfully.
