Namesco increases margins using ZyXEL’s routers for TvMAX service

Namesco, a UK domain registration, web hosting and broadband provider with more than 167,000 customers, wanted to expand beyond standard internet access and launch a new service that would reinforce its image as an innovative company while generating new revenue. The challenge was to deliver TvMax, a “digital lifestyle” service for the living room — including email, web browsing, podcasts, VoIP and online gaming — without harming bandwidth for other applications. Namesco chose ZyXEL routers to support the service.

ZyXEL supplied a range of ADSL routers for Namesco’s TvMax offering, including the Prestige 660RU, 660H and 661HW, giving different options for first-time users, advanced users and home workers. The solution provided strong triple-play performance, flexible bandwidth management, wireless and VPN options, and a low support overhead, enabling Namesco to offer competitive pricing while still making excellent margins. The success of the service led Namesco to switch from BT Voyager hardware and exclusively supply ZyXEL routers across its broadband portfolio.
