Matterhorn Group Unifies Business Network with ZyXEL WLAN, Switzerland

Matterhorn Group Zermatt, a hospitality group in Switzerland’s Matterhorn resort area, needed to unify network operations across multiple partner businesses that had previously run isolated systems. Working with Zyxel, the group set out to create a centrally managed WLAN that could support staff, guests, and both indoor and outdoor wireless coverage across hotels and restaurants.

Zyxel implemented a network backbone using GS1910 and GS2200 switches, an NXC5500 Wireless LAN Controller, and around 80 NWA5000-series access points initially, with plans to expand to about 130 APs. The solution delivered centralized management, easy administration, broad signal coverage, and scalable connectivity for all businesses, while also supporting guest captive portals, VLAN-based VoIP, and improved user experience for both staff and visitors.
