Indian Hotel Sees Satisfied Guests after Customized, High-Speed Zyxel DSLAM Solution

Hotel Basera, a hospitality property in Pune, India, needed a way to provide reliable internet access in an older building that lacked modern cabling and was wired only with analog telephone lines. Existing centralized WiFi routers left some rooms with weak or no coverage and often struggled with bandwidth demand, so the hotel turned to Zyxel for a better solution using its DSLAM-based networking equipment.

Zyxel implemented a customized DSLAM solution with an IES-1248-51 ADSL2+ IP DSLAM and AMG1202-T10B wireless gateways in guest rooms, using existing phone lines to deliver dedicated broadband WiFi throughout the hotel. As a result, every guest room gained wireless connectivity, nearly 50 gateways were centrally managed from one DSLAM device, and guest satisfaction improved after deployment.
