Hankook Tire, the Korean tire manufacturer with a large factory and residential hostel in Hungary, needed a wireless and network infrastructure that could handle heavy internet usage from 500 workers while also supporting video surveillance, access control, and multiple separate subnets. Zyxel was brought in to design the solution, initially considering a USG200 but moving to the higher-capacity ZyWALL USG-1000 to meet performance demands.

Zyxel implemented a network built around ES-3148 and ES-3124 managed switches, XGS-4526 Layer 3+ 10 Gigabit switches, a ZyWALL USG-1000 security gateway, and NWA-3160 access points. The result was reliable, secure nonstop internet and Wi‑Fi across the hostel, with six subsystems operating separately on one IP network and support for 116 surveillance cameras; the upgrade improved performance and ensured smooth operation within budget.
