Danish Boarding School Upgrades to Future-proof Wireless Network

Nøvlingskov Continuation School, a Danish boarding school serving about 110 students, needed a reliable wireless network that could cover classrooms, workshops, common areas, and dormitories around the clock. Its existing setup had poor coverage and couldn’t handle changing demand during the day and evening, so the school turned to Zyxel for a future-proof upgrade using a wireless LAN controller, access points, switches, and a security gateway.

Zyxel implemented a centrally managed WLAN built around the NXC wireless LAN controller, business access points, managed switches, and a Unified Security Gateway, with VLANs and scheduling to separate academic, administrative, guest, and exam traffic. The new network improved coverage and stability, supported around 130 simultaneous users, simplified management, and gave the school enough flexibility to expand in the future. The school also reduced costs by terminating some UNI-C subscriptions, while Zyxel resolved early deployment issues quickly and at no extra cost.
