Connected Health Entertainment Solution Underpinned by ZyXEL

Hospedia, a UK healthcare provider of bedside entertainment services for up to 10 million patients a year, needed to upgrade and install new bedside communication and entertainment systems across hospitals with minimal disruption. To do this, it sought a single networking partner that could deliver consistent, interoperable, and quickly deployable infrastructure. Zyxel supplied the networking and DSLAM equipment, including managed switches, MSAN chassis, and ADSL routers, to support the rollout.

Zyxel implemented an end-to-end networking solution tailored to existing hospital infrastructure, using products such as the XGS-4528F core switch, ES3148 and ES2024A access switches, and IES-5000M/IES-6000M chassis with P660R routers where needed. The result was a pre-configurable, near plug-and-play deployment that could be installed in hours, reducing downtime, testing effort, and maintenance costs. Hospedia had already upgraded 5,000 bedside units and could source its entire networking stack from Zyxel, minimizing incompatibility risks while improving reliability and speed of rollout.
