Claridge’s Hotel, the iconic five-star London property, needed to replace its slow ADSL-based guest connectivity while preserving the structure of its Grade II listed building. The hotel also needed to keep its administrative network separate from guest access for security, and to deliver fast, reliable Wi-Fi despite a challenging deployment environment. Zyxel provided the switching foundation for this upgrade with Gigabit Ethernet switches.

Working with Zyxel partner Cyberware Limited, Claridge’s deployed an independent guest network backbone using Zyxel Gigabit Ethernet switches alongside its private admin network. The solution delivered stable, high-speed connectivity throughout the hotel, supported demanding uses such as streaming and VoIP, and was easy to manage. Zyxel’s switches also proved reliable in harsh locations such as dusty cupboards and laundry rooms, and they reportedly never exceeded 50% bandwidth capacity even during large events.
