Carrier Wales Delivers Uncontended Fibre to the Business with ZyXEL UK

Carrier Wales, a division of Integrated Digital Services (IDS), needed a proven networking partner to help deliver uncontended fibre connectivity for business customers across Wales. Working with Zyxel, the company looked for a cost-effective, easily configurable metro switching solution that could support service segmentation and interconnect with multiple NGN providers.

Zyxel implemented its Metro Switches, including the XGS-4728F, MES-3728, and ES-315F, using Q-in-Q and QoS capabilities to prioritize traffic for services such as VoIP, hosted conferencing, disaster recovery, and cloud applications. As a result, Carrier Wales could offer uncontended connectivity from 10 Mb to 1 Gb, run multiple applications without performance impact, and expand into managed LAN services, all while delivering the project on budget and ahead of schedule.
