Carnegie Telephone Helps Local Hospital Go Wireless with ZyXEL’s Dual-Purpose WiFi Solution, USA

Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital, a 21-bed rural Oklahoma facility, needed a secure, manageable, and economical wireless LAN that could support three isolated networks for staff, patients, and Wi‑Fi medical equipment. To meet this need, the hospital worked with Carnegie Telephone and Zyxel, using Zyxel’s USG100 security gateway, ES-3124PWR switch, and NWA3160-N access points.

Zyxel’s solution delivered a centrally managed wireless network with multiple SSIDs, VLAN support, and a built-in AP controller for easier deployment and ongoing management. The hospital gained seamless wireless coverage, improved staff and patient connectivity, and faster setup with stronger security—all while staying within budget, with Zyxel reportedly costing hundreds of dollars less than a major competitor.
