Argentinian Mall Keeps Shops and Shoppers Connected with Zyxel GPON and Nebula Solution

Palmares Open Mall, one of Argentina’s largest shopping centers, needed a modern wired and wireless network to connect more than 140 stores, 22 restaurants, administrative staff, and critical security and fire systems. Because many coverage points were more than 100 meters apart, traditional copper cabling could not deliver the speed or reliability required, so the mall turned to Zyxel for a GPON and cloud-managed WiFi solution.

Zyxel implemented a GPON network with the OLT1408A, PMG5617GA units, and NWA1123-ACv2 access points managed through Nebula Control Center. The result was fast, stable fiber-based connectivity for shops, VoIP support, and robust WiFi for public areas and the food court, while reducing equipment, power, and maintenance costs. Zyxel’s solution also gave Palmares more centralized control and a scalable platform for future upgrades.
