The Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna partnered with Zyxel to modernize wireless internet access across its historic campus in the center of Bologna. The school needed secure, reliable Wi‑Fi for more than 1,700 students, faculty, staff, and guests across three centuries-old buildings while preserving the integrity of its 18th-century architecture.

Zyxel implemented a managed wireless and security solution built around an NXC5200 WLAN controller, 33 NWA3560 dual-radio access points, and a USG1900 Unified Security Gateway. The result was seamless campus-wide connectivity, strong security and content filtering, and personalized internet access across four VLANs, with scalable performance designed to support the academy’s large user base.
