SDL Brokerage, a New York–based P&C and benefits agency of about 20 employees with 3–4 dedicated producers, needed to grow its property & casualty book after health care reform limited growth on the group health side. Historically serving clients from roughly $5K–$500K in premium, they couldn’t compete for larger accounts and wanted to “play in the $1 million arena.”
