Roland Barrera Insurance is a South Texas benefits-focused brokerage founded in 2012 after owner Roland Barrera left a TPA. Starting as a one-person agency, Roland needed better tools to reach prospects, manage benefit compliance and track commissions to grow the business and compete more effectively.
Roland implemented Zywave’s suite — Broker Briefcase Benefits, BrokerageBuilder, MyWave Connect, HRconnection and Wrap360 — using automated email marketing, ERISA wrap compliance support and commission tracking. The results were rapid: more inbound calls in 2013 than in the previous 20 years, doubled sales in the first year, continued year-over-year growth, expansion to five employees and only two lost cases since 2013.
