Debunk EU scrapes millions of news articles with Zyte

Debunk EU is an independently funded think tank and NGO that tracks disinformation and misinformation across media outlets in the Baltic region and beyond. As its monitoring needs grew to hundreds and then thousands of domains, the team needed a more scalable way to collect news articles in many languages, and they turned to Zyte API with Extraction service to reduce the maintenance burden of their in-house Scrapy setup.

With Zyte, Debunk EU now automatically extracts and monitors over 1.5 million news articles each month from about 60,000 domains in 42 languages, helping them track disinformation campaigns at scale. Zyte’s article extraction and technical support also made it easier for the team to publish more than 100 reports per year while avoiding the cost and complexity of maintaining their own scraping infrastructure.
