A Zymr Case Study
The customer, Community Health Network, a 4,500-bed health system, faced challenges with disconnected monitoring systems and manual workflows for tracking patient vitals. This fragmented approach delayed the detection of critical conditions like sepsis and burdened nursing staff with excessive documentation. They partnered with vendor Zymr to implement an intelligent Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) integration platform.
Zymr designed and deployed an IoMT early warning system that connected bedside monitors and wearables to EHR workflows using FHIR standards. The solution automated data exchange, implemented real-time clinical alerts for sepsis indicators, and integrated observations directly into documentation systems. This resulted in sepsis indicators being detected 19 hours earlier and achieved a 35% reduction in manual nursing documentation effort, significantly improving clinical responsiveness.
