The Processor Driving Procurement Performance at AMD

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is a global technology company that needed to cut costs, reduce supplier and financial risk, and improve procurement efficiency with fewer resources. Facing dated eSourcing tools, Excel-based supplier tracking, and no consolidated spend analysis, AMD selected Zycus and its Source-to-Pay suite—notably Spend Analysis, eSourcing (iSource) and Supplier Performance Management (iPerform)—to modernize and standardize procurement processes.

Zycus deployed iSource, iPerform and its Spend Analysis module to centralize RFx activity, enable supplier segmentation and provide a single version of spend truth. The solution achieved near-100% global adoption of supplier management, helped AMD meet its working-capital goal (extended payment terms), and contributed to measurable results: a 23% reduction in procurement labor costs (2008–2013), a 23% increase in savings per FTE and a 30% reduction in vendor base.
