Leading American Biotechnology Company, a global biopharmaceutical firm focused on oncology and severe immune conditions, faced limited procurement maturity with a transactional sourcing role (20–50% span of control), low addressable spend visibility, lengthy manual RFPs, no formal supplier ratings or contract visibility, and exposure to supplier/compliance risks (FCPA, FDA, etc.). To address these gaps the company engaged Zycus and deployed modules from Zycus’ end-to-end Source-to-Pay suite—Spend Analysis, eSourcing, Contract Management and Supplier Management.
Zycus implemented iAnalyze, iSource, iContract and iPerform to roll out a center-led strategic sourcing model, increase global spend visibility, automate sourcing, and formalize supplier relationship management. The result: a 54% increase in savings year-over-year, about 98% of sourcing contracts captured in the contract system with 25% compliance via iContract, 85% of 150+ annual sourcing events run through iSource, a jump in addressable spend under review (from ~23% toward 65%), faster sourcing cycles and a reduced supplier base.
