A Zumasys Case Study
Pacific International Marketing (PIM), a major fresh produce grower, packer and shipper, needed a single disaster-recovery and business-continuity plan for its mission-critical applications—most notably its Oracle-based Famous accounting system—to eliminate costly downtime and improve data resiliency. To modernize an aging, server-heavy environment and build a second on‑site DR site, PIM engaged Zumasys and adopted virtualization along with a FlexPod/NetApp infrastructure and Veeam virtual machine backup software.
Zumasys implemented two FlexPod converged systems (Cisco UCS + NetApp storage), a secondary NetApp archive tier, and Veeam VM backup integrated with NetApp snapshots so VMs can be instantly powered from backups. The deployment delivered a sub‑30‑minute recovery-time objective, up to 80% faster Famous server performance (averaging ~8,000 IOPS), 24/7 availability, simplified DR processes, and lower storage costs—measurable resilience and faster time to revenue enabled by Zumasys.
