Astro Pak, a 50‑year leader in passivation and high‑purity cleaning with 220 employees and nine facilities, needed reliable 24/7 access for a widely distributed, mobile workforce, strict security and regulatory partitioning, and a low‑capex, fully managed IT partner because they had little in‑house IT. After evaluating multiple vendors, Astro Pak moved its applications and data to the Zumasys Cloud, using a Citrix‑based environment and managed services from Zumasys.

Zumasys provided a fully managed cloud platform (Citrix front end, Fortinet firewalls, NetApp/VMware multitenancy) and expanded help‑desk support to act as Astro Pak’s IT extension. The result: near‑perfect availability, security concerns eliminated, and major cost savings versus buying and maintaining on‑premises hardware—Zumasys now hosts more than 30 servers for Astro Pak, refreshed the platform 2–3 times in five years, and can provision test servers within 24 hours so Astro Pak only pays monthly for what they use.
