Amtech Celebrates 5 Years of Uptime on jBASE in the Zumasys Cloud

Amtech, a rapidly growing manufacturer of custom-molded composites, relied on PRO:MAN built on the jBASE database as its mission-critical ERP but faced weak disaster recovery, manual tape backups, and up to a week of potential data loss with 3–4 day recovery times. To improve uptime, eliminate tape processes, and enable business continuity, Amtech engaged Zumasys to design a cloud-based solution tailored to PRO:MAN and jBASE.

Zumasys migrated PRO:MAN into the Zumasys Cloud (hosted at The SuperNAP), provided a zero-downtime transition, and implemented automated disk-to-disk replication with NetApp SnapMirror, nightly backups to a geographically distributed Irvine data center, and Citrix XenApp with AccuTerm for remote access. As a result, Zumasys cut recovery time from 3–4 days to minutes, removed manual tape workflows, accelerated transaction processing (tens of thousands of records per day), enabled remote work, supported rapid geographic expansion and 40% year-over-year growth without an in-house IT team, and relieved Amtech’s IT burden by outsourcing ongoing support and upgrades.
